An accident involving a lorry and a car occurred on the A3 motorway near Dudelange on Tuesday afternoon, causing significant traffic disruptions.
According to the traffic monitoring centre, the collision took place in the middle of the afternoon on the stretch of the A3 between Luxembourg City and the French border. As a result, the right-hand lane and the emergency lane in the direction of France were closed, leading to heavy traffic congestion extending back to the Aire de Berchem. Delays were also reported on the slip road connecting the A3 to the A13, particularly in the direction of Pétange toward Schengen.
Authorities have reminded drivers of the importance of forming a safety corridor by leaving space between lanes to allow emergency vehicles to pass through efficiently.
