The University of Luxembourg's open day on Saturday offered a glimpse into university life, with campus tours, information booths, and presentations aimed at helping prospective students navigate their options.

Around 5,000 visitors attended the University of Luxembourg's (Uni.lu) open day at Belval on Saturday, offering a unique opportunity for prospective students, parents, and pupils to explore the campus, discover various study programmes, and engage directly with professors.

Organised campus tours, information booths, and diverse presentations allowed attendees to gain a better understanding of life at the university.

Jens Kreisel, dean of the university remarked: "It's an important day for future students to experience the campus and envision their study programmes. The Belval campus has greatly developed in recent years, offering both traditional and modern programmes, such as data science and digital history, catering to the needs of today's students."

The process of selecting a university can be overwhelming due to the vast array of options. At the University of Luxembourg alone, there are over 40 bachelor's programmes. The atmosphere on campus was full of anticipation, with visitors eager to experience what the university had to offer.

Alicia Ferreira Rodrigus, a prospective student, commented: "I just want to see how I feel before committing and explore my options to see if I recognise anyone or find people who want to join me. I also want to get a sense of what makes this university different from others, what appeals to me, and to get a feel for it. I think that's important."

Marie-Swann N'Dri, another attendee, shared: "I already find the university very beautiful and diverse. I'm from France, and I want a change of scenery. I think I've found what I like here, so I'm exploring everything to see what Luxembourg has to offer."

Currently, 6,500 students are enrolled at the University of Luxembourg. Some students who are already attending the university took the opportunity to share their experiences with potential future students.

Emily Krauß, a current student, said: "We want to show that the university has a lot to offer, more than what you might see on the website, and get people excited about it. I was here myself, and it made my decision much easier. Seeing the community, knowing that you can try new things, and realising it's not just about attending lectures made it all feel more accessible."

Saturday's event provided many prospective students with a clearer picture of what the University of Luxembourg has to offer and whether it could be the right place for their academic future.
