John Schummer was not only a politically committed man, he also stood up for disabled people as president of Fondation Kräizbierg.
The Democratic Party politician was a Chamber MP from 1992 to 2004, as well as adviser at the commune of Kopstal.
John Schummer had been a member of the DP's executive committee. In his youth, he was an active handball player and competed for Luxembourg's national team.
As president of the organisation "Fondation Kräizbierg", he dedicated himself to helping people with disabilities.
The minister of foreign affairs Xavier Bettel extended his condolences to Schummer's wife and his three children.
