A person was rescued from the Alzette River on Tuesday afternoon after being carried downstream from the Grund to the Pfaffenthal neighbourhood.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) responded to a rather unusual incident in Luxembourg City.
According to preliminary reports, an unclothed individual reportedly entered the Alzette River in the Grund neighbourhood and was subsequently carried downstream toward Pfaffenthal.
CGDIS personnel were able to rescue the person near the Pont Grand-Duchesse Charlotte bridge. The individual was then transported to a hospital for further care. Police were also at the scene.
