A yellow alert is still in place for the Moselle region while the north and south have switched back to green.
The alert has been downgraded to green for the northern and southern parts of the country, but a yellow alert remains in place for the Moselle region, lasting until Tuesday, 7 January, at 4pm, due to the ongoing risk of flooding.
The Moselle's water levels, influenced by precipitation and thaw in the Vosges, are expected to rise to 530 cm at the Stadtbredimus gauge by Tuesday morning. The alert, which spans from 6 January at 4 pm to 7 January at 4pm, may be adapted or extended depending on how the situation evolves.
Citizens are asked to keep an eye on the situations, and to stay informed via inondations.lu, meteolux.lu, and infocrise.lu.
Over the weekend, the Water Management Authority extended its orange flood alert for Luxembourg until Monday, as the Alzette and Sûre rivers surpassed the orange alert threshold.
Authorities have shared the closure of CR123 road between Essingen and Cruchten due to a landslide.
Meanwhile, the municipality of Ettelbruck has announced that the Deich parking area, as well as the underground level of the car park, have been closed as a precaution. Anyone with a vehicle parked there is asked to remove it and, above all, not leave it there overnight.
Snow is expected to return on Tuesday as temperatures fall, with the national weather agency forecasting another cold spell lasting through to Friday.
A yellow alert for strong wind is also set until Monday 6pm for the whole country. Gusts of wind between 70 and 90 km/h are expected with the strongest gusts, reaching 100 km/h, are expected between 1pm and 4pm.
