The police have reported two incidents involving drink-driving on Sunday evening.
The first case was brought to the attention of the police when an accident involving two vehicles was reported in Pétange. One of the drivers involved had made off on foot in the direction of Athus in Belgium instead of attending to the damage.
However, with the help of the Belgian police, the man was found shortly afterwards. His alcohol test came back positive and it also turned out that the man had a driving ban. He was fined.
Later that night, the police was informed of a motorist who was travelling in zigzags. Despite the officers' request to halt, the motorist continued to drive, but he was intercepted shortly thereafter. His driving licence was confiscated after a positive alcohol test.
