Several people have been attacked in the capital, with the police reporting at least three incidents on Saturday night.
On Saturday evening, around 11pm, a violent theft was reported near Place de Paris in the City centre. According to initial reports, two individuals were targeted by three perpetrators attempting to steal a bag, though they were unsuccessful. One of the victims was shoved to the ground, and the thieves escaped after stealing the victim's watch. An investigation is currently underway.
In the early hours of Sunday, around 2.20am, a second theft was reported on Rue de Neudorf, also in the capital. A group of three to four individuals approached a victim, and one of the thieves punched the person in the chest before stealing a gold necklace and fleeing toward Clausen. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Earlier that evening, another theft occurred on Rue de Münster. When police arrived, the victim explained that their mobile phone had been forcibly taken. Thanks to the victim’s description of the suspects, authorities were able to apprehend them near the scene. The suspects were taken to the police station, and the stolen phone was recovered following a body search. Under the orders of the public prosecutor, two suspects were identified, while a third was placed in detention.
