A public petition addressing gender-based and psychological violence, led by the Voice of Survivors non-profit, has surpassed 4,500 signatures, qualifying it for debate in Luxembourg's Chamber of Deputies.

A public petition focused on proposals to combat "sexual, gender-based, physical and psychological violence, and secondary victimisation" has crossed the threshold of 4,500 signatures and is thereby eligible for discussion in the Chamber of Deputies. Petition 3409 was put forward by the Voice of Survivors non-profit and its president, Ana Pinto, who underlines that the suggestions were devised in light of the upcoming conference around the National Action Plan Against Gender Violence.

The petition further notes that the "figures bear witness to the scale of the challenge", referencing reports by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (STATEC) that 20% of women and 17% of men experienced physical, psychological, and/or sexual violence in 2020.

The petition can still be signed until 3 January 2025.
