Police in Luxembourg dealt with a series of incidents this weekend, including a heated argument in Pfaffenthal, a robbery in the Gare district, and an arrest following reckless driving.

Argument between two people in Pfaffenthal

At around 11pm on 14 December, a heated argument broke out between two intoxicated individuals on Rue du Fort Olisy in Pfaffenthal. The altercation resulted in one person being taken to the hospital for examination.

Theft in Gare district

Earlier that evening, at approximately 6pm, a caller reported being robbed on Rue Glesener in the Gare district. The assailant demanded money, The victim was not injured. A formal complaint has been filed, and an investigation is underway.

Arrest

At around 3am on 14 December, police officers on patrol observed a vehicle speeding from Ingeldorf toward Ettelbruck. The driver narrowly avoided a collision by braking at the last second. Upon inspection, officers noted signs of intoxication. A breathalyser test confirmed this, leading to the immediate withdrawal of the driver's licence.

During the stop, the passenger in the vehicle became increasingly aggressive, eventually injuring a police officer. Due to his violent behavior, the passenger was taken for a medical examination and placed in an overnight cell.

Weekend disturbances

Over the weekend, police responded to around 40 reported disturbances. In most cases, the issues were resolved on-site, or no noise was detected when officers arrived.
