The anaesthetist, who was provisionally suspended due to inappropriate behaviour at the scene of a road accident last spring in Crauthem, received the sanction after internal review.
According to information obtained by RTL, the doctor has since had a hearing before the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) Disciplinary Council, which has reviewed the case and proposed the sanction to the Board of Directors.
It was decided that the doctor will effectively be suspended from his duties for a period of one year. His suspension will last until the end of June 2025.

Regarding the sanction, the CGDIS Board of Directors based its decision on two points of its internal regulations which were not respected:
On the one hand, the doctor was not wearing the prescribed safety equipment during interventions, as required of all CGDIS members; and on the other hand, the doctor took a selfie before an intervention, which is considered innapropriate behaviour. RTL has a video of the incident.
RTL contacted the CGDIS, who confirmed this information.
The doctor in question, who, as mentioned above, will remain suspended from Emergency Medical Service (SAMU) duties for the next seven months, may file an appeal for annulment of this CGDIS decision before the administrative court.
A decision to file a complaint with the Collège Médical has not yet been made by CGDIS.
