Five people were injured in various incidents across the country on Wednesday, according to the emergency services.

The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) reported that four incidents left five people injured on Wednesday.

At 12.24pm, a cyclist was injured after being hit by a van on Avenue Guillaume in Luxembourg City.

In Stegen, another person was injured after driving their car down an embankment at 2.29pm.

About half an hour later, at 3.03pm, a washing machine caught fire on Rue de l'industrie in Strassen. The incident left one person injured.

Two vehicles collided on Rue de Rumelange in Esch-sur-Alzette at 4.22pm, leaving two people injured.
