n Thursday, Bob Kieffer was named the new president of the BGL BNP Paribas bank council, following the retirement of Etienne Reuter and with the backing of the European Central Bank.

At the suggestion of the Minister of Finance, and with the approval of the European Central Bank, Bob Kieffer was appointed as the new president of the BGL BNP Paribas bank council on Thursday.

This change in leadership was prompted by a request from the current bank president, Etienne Reuter, who had already signalled at the beginning of the year that he hoped to retire in the near future. Reuter also served as Director of the General Finance Inspections before retiring.

Before working at the Ministry of Finance under Democratic Party (DP) Minister Gramegna, Kieffer worked as a lawyer for BGL. Despite taking on a new role, he will continue to serve as Secretary General at the Ministry as well as Director of the Treasury.

His current post as supervisory commissioner at Spuerkees was taken over by Luc Feller on 1 November.
