Minister of finance Gilles Roth and his delegation are attending the Fintech expo in Singapore to secure Luxembourg's connections with digital finance platforms.
The fair’s main theme revolves around the expansion of cryptocurrencies and digital payment possibilities. Luxembourg has optimistic perspectives when it comes to the subject, assures minister Roth:
“Digital payments - that means Amazon, Ebay, Paypal, Alipay. All these are businesses which have established their payment platforms in Luxembourg. Currently we have 35 in Luxembourg, and the additional 21 conversations we have conducted in the last few days have proven that we will accommodate even more firms in the future. The biggest firms are primarily from the southern hemisphere."
"It is still too early to reveal more, but we will do so in the coming months. Overall, we have had quite a positive mission here in Singapore”, minister Gilles Roth added.
The delegation's next destination will be Japan.
