Luxembourg's planned amendments to its electoral law face delays as no political party has submitted proposals by the original deadline.

All parties represented in Luxembourg's Chamber of Deputies agreed earlier this year on the need to amend the electoral law. In late April, Laurent Zeimet, president of the Parliamentary Committee of Institutions, introduced a resolution to modify the related bills.

Following this, Chamber of Deputies President Claude Wiseler formally requested that each political faction submit its proposals, initially setting a deadline of 31 October.

However, this deadline has now been extended, as none of the seven parties represented in the Chamber have submitted their proposals by 4 November. This was confirmed to our colleagues from RTL.lu by the Chamber's secretary general, Laurent Scheeck.
