The Luxembourg judiciary has announced that the contentious MALT case, involving a conflict between the Pirate Party and the National Reception Office, has been referred to the European courts for further investigation.

On Tuesday, the Luxembourg judiciary announced that the European Public Prosecutor's Office had decided to take up the MALT case, involving a dispute between the Pirate Party and the National Reception Office (ONA).

As a result, the investigation will now proceed under the oversight of the Luxembourg delegate of the European Public Prosecutors, according to judicial authorities.

The dispute centres around the ONA's claim for reimbursement from the Pirate Party for invoices related to the development of MALT, which stands for Mobile Assisted Language Tool. This mobile app was intended to help Arabic-speaking individuals learn Luxembourgish.
