Diana M., a resident of Bettembourg, contacted our colleagues from RTL.lu to raise awareness about the situation in her town. She reported that in recent months, multiple cars have been keyed or damaged with stones, including four vehicles belonging to her family in the past few weeks. Diana M. has filed a complaint with the police.
The Luxembourg police press service confirmed to our colleagues that several incidents of vehicle damage have been reported in recent weeks, and investigations are currently underway. However, no specific numbers were provided regarding how many cars were vandalised. The police are asking any witnesses to come forward with information.

The mayor of Bettembourg, Laurent Zeimet, acknowledged the situation, stating, "It's extremely annoying and has happened conspicuously often in recent weeks." The municipality has been in contact with the police and has discussed the issue within the municipal safety and prevention committee.
Diana M. also reached out to the municipality. They confirmed they are dealing with the situation and highlighted an upcoming information meeting with the police on 18 November. It will primarily focus on burglary prevention but will also address the recent cases of vandalism.
