Two individuals were taken into custody by Luxembourg police during separate incidents in Schieren and Luxembourg City.

In its latest bulletin, Luxembourg police report two arrests made on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

In the early hours of Friday morning, a police patrol in Schieren observed a car with four occupants suddenly turn off its lights upon noticing the officers. A subsequent check was carried out, during which one of the individuals admitted to carrying a small quantity of hashish. The search also uncovered a handbag containing several narcotics as well as a sum of cash. The owner of the handbag, one of the four people checked, was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office and later brought before an examining magistrate.

A second arrest took place in the early hours of Saturday morning at around 2.45am. Police received reports of a person armed with a knife on Avenue de la Liberté in Luxembourg City. Officers dispatched to the scene conducted a check and found that the individual was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant. The person was subsequently taken to the Sanem penitentiary centre.
