The Grand Ducal police stepped up its road safety campaign around schools to mark the beginning of the new term last month.

Between 16-30 September, police patrolled areas around schools to ensure drivers were adhering to the rules of the road.

662 fines were issued to drivers for parking incorrectly, while 238 drivers were fined for speeding.

In 55 cases, car occupants were not wearing a seatbelt - 41 of whom were adults, while the others were minors.

Six drivers were also found to be travelling with children without the correct car seats installed in the vehicle.

The Grand Ducal police appealed to all road users to continue paying attention to children in areas around schools and to adapt their speed accordingly.
