Coincidentally on Wednesday morning, the police published their report and evaluation on the national road safety campaign focused on the start of the school year, which took place from 16 to 30 September. The campaign highlighted several violations and traffic offences.

A total of 622 fines were issued for illegal parking. Additionally, 238 fines were given for speeding violations. Fifty-five fines were issued for failure to wear a seatbelt (41 cases involved adults, and 14 minors), and six fines were issued for the lack of an approved child seat for transporting a child under 3 years old, or a child between the ages of 3 and 17 who is under 150 cm tall.

The police reminds citizen that children, especially the youngest, may not fully understand the dangers of the road and can be less visible due to their small size, particularly in the early morning when it is still dark. Therefore, all road users should exercise extra caution and reduce their speed near schools.
