The Luxembourg Science Center has dismissed its director, Nicolas Didier, amid governance concerns and a lack of trust with the newly appointed board, signalling a significant leadership shift as the institution transitions to a new non-profit structure.

The Luxembourg Science Center recently signed a new agreement with the government, following the appointment of a new board of directors. This shake-up now led to the dismissal of Nicolas Didier, the center's director, who is no longer part of the board.

Camille Feyder, the new chairman of the board, cited a lack of trust between the board and Didier as the reason for his removal, though he declined to provide further details when questioned by RTL.

According to RTL sources, the main issue was Didier's refusal to allow the transfer of employees to the new non-profit structure. Governance at the Science Center had been under scrutiny for nearly two years, with conflicts of interest at the core of the debate. Specifically, concerns were raised over Didier's dual roles as director of his private company, GGM11, and chairman of the Science Center's board.

Philippe Dispas is now set to take over as interim director, starting Monday, with the responsibility of ensuring a smooth transition for the center’s new structure.
