The Vatican has issued a press statement announcing that Pope Francis has cancelled his scheduled audiences for Monday due to a 'light flu.'

The decision was made as a precaution to ensure his recovery ahead of his planned visits to Luxembourg and Belgium on Thursday.

Belgian authorities have already confirmed that there are no concerns on their part, and preparations for the Pope's arrival will continue as planned.

The 87-year-old Pope has faced a series of health challenges in recent years, which have forced him to cancel several visits and audiences.

Despite this, he recently completed a two-week visit to Asia and the Pacific without any large complications. However, due to ongoing issues with his knee and hip, Pope Francis now conducts his official visits in a wheelchair.

It remains to be seen whether any further visits will be canceled as a result of Francis's health condition.
