Police on Friday evening carried out a routine traffic check on Route de Noertzange in Dudelange. At around 8.30pm, they found that an approaching vehicle was significantly exceeding the 50kmh-speed limit. After officers signalled the driver to stop, they realised that the man was in fact riding an electric scooter.

Rather than stopping, however, the rider tried to escape the police. The attempt remained unsuccessful, as the man lost control over the e-scooter and fell. He received medical attention at the scene and was later hospitalised.

A subsequent alcohol test showed that the man was over the legal limit. The prosecutor’s office ordered a report and the seizing of the e-scooter.
