Officers drove to the scene and spotted the suspect several streets away from the initial site, catching him in the act of breaking into another vehicle. He was taken into custody and will be brought before a judge in due course.
A house in Bettembourg was broken into on New Year’s Eve, as perpetrators smashed open a patio door to the home on Rue de la Libération to gain access and search through the rooms.
In addition, break-ins were reported on Rue de la Résistance in Strassen, and Rue John Gruen in Mondorf-les-Bains. In both instances, the residents were at home and caught the suspects in the act, causing the thieves to flee.
