On Thursday, the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps were confronted with a somewhat less perilous situation than usual, after a young kitten became trapped under a vehicle.
The tiny cat had taken refuge under a parked car, but was unable to escape due to its young age and lack of experience.
A team of fire fighters arrived on the scene and took charge of the situation, with one member manoeuvring himself under the car to remove part of the underbody in order to liberate the kitten.




Following the successful intervention, the team gathered for a photo with the young victim, thus immortalising a rather unusually calm operation for the emergency services.
The CGDIS used the opportunity to raise awareness of their next national day of civil security, which will take place at Echternach lake on 22 September. The occasion is perfect for young and old to discover the fascinating world of Luxembourg's emergency services, and perhaps to inspire new recruits...
