A number of police incidents were reported on Wednesday evening, including two arrests and home burglaries.
A police patrol in Luxembourg City's Gare district noticed two men acting suspiciously and exchanging money. One of the men then briefly entered a café, before exiting several minutes later and climbing in a vehicle with the second man.
Officers pulled the car over on Rue de Hollerich due to suspicion of a drug deal. Upon checking the two individuals, they found various amounts of cocaine and other drug packages. The suspected buyer was taken into custody by order of the public prosecutor's office.
Some time later, another patrol followed a man on Rue Jean Origer after the latter was observed to be acting suspiciously and appeared extremely nervous when he noticed the police. The man attempted to flee, but was caught by officers and searched. During the search, he was found to have swallowed an unidentified object. He was promptly taken for a scan and medical check by order of the prosecutor's office, and was subsequently taken into custody when the scan revealed he had swallowed drug parcels.
