The 2024 Schueberfouer concluded with a spectacular fireworks display after drawing an impressive two million visitors over 20 days, marking another successful year for Luxembourg's largest funfair despite challenging weather conditions.
This year's edition of the annual Schueberfouer attracted an impressive two million visitors and after 20 days filled with fun, laughter, and some thrilling screams, the Fouer came to an end on Wednesday night. And as has become tradition, the largest funfair in the Greater Region went out in style with a large fireworks display.
Stallholders pleased by success of Schueberfouer 2024
Despite unfavourable weather conditions during the final days, this year's Schueberfouer was a rousing success for stallholders. While visitors come to the funfair to enjoy time with friends, family, and coworkers, stall owners are there to work, which can become stressful and exhausting over time.
The Fouer kicked off with great energy and enthusiasm, but after 20 days of hard work, stallholders are admittedly relieved that the festivities were a success and that everything unfolded smoothly, according to Charles Hary, president of the Federation of Commercial Stall Owners (FNCF): "The only real issue we had this year was the fluctuating weather. We started off with warm weather then it started to get cold and rainy. But, it is what it is and you have to learn to live with it."

With 216 rides and games, the Glacis was brightly lit during the Schueberfouer, but for many older attendees, the highlight was the gastronomic delights and the festive atmosphere that defined the event. Although this year's edition has come to an end, preparations for next year's edition are already underway, as organisers look ahead to delivering another memorable experience.
"Naturally, our work is not done. We are already deep into the planning for this year's Christmas market, and of course, we must get a head start on next year's Schueberfouer as well. Stallholders can apply to set up a stall at next year's Fouer until the end of this month. Once we receive all the applications, we'll make our decisions and begin preparations for next year", explained Fairground Master Laurent Schwaller.
After the fireworks on Wednesday evening, some fairground operators had already started dismantling their rides and stalls. By Tuesday, 17 September, the Glacis will be cleared and return to being a grey parking lot rather than a bustling fairground.
