A number of burglaries and break-in attempts were reported to police on Thursday, with one incident leaving a resident with injuries after an unfortunate encounter with a thief.

On Thursday afternoon, a burglar broke into a residence on Boulevard Charles Simonis in Luxembourg City, where he was quickly discovered by the occupants. During a tussle with one of the residents, the thief snatched the victim's wristwatch and left them with minor injuries. He also stole several hats before making his escape.

In Hesperange, a second break-in was reported on Route de Thionville on Thursday, where the would-be burglar was surprised by the occupants. The thief went on to jump out of the window in order to flee the scene.
