Recent days have seen a series of police interventions in Luxembourg, including several drink-driving cases and the arrest of a suspected drug dealer.

On Tuesday afternoon, police responded to a report of a car on Rue de Bettembourg in Fentange that had collided with a railing. The driver had left the vehicle, which was suspected to have been abandoned without being secured. A breathalyser test confirmed the driver had been drinking, resulting in a provisional driving ban.

Later that day, in the early evening, another drink-driving incident was reported on Rue d'Echternach in Wasserbillig. Police located the motorist and conducted a breathalyser test, which also came back positive, leading to the revocation of the driver's licence.

In the evening, a police patrol on Boulevard Prince Henri in Esch-sur-Alzette stopped a swerving vehicle. The breathalyser test for the driver was positive. Additionally, the car was found to lack proper documentation, including insurance, a valid technical control certificate, and a tax sticker. The driver's licence was revoked, and the vehicle was seized on the public prosecutor's orders.

On Wednesday morning, a car was reported for swerving on the A13, frequently veering onto the hard shoulder. A police patrol intercepted the vehicle near the Mondorf tunnel, where a breathalyser test confirmed the driver had been drinking. The motorist received a provisional driving ban.

Suspected drug dealer arrested

Around 7pm on Tuesday, a patrol stopped an individual on the footbridge in the Gare neighbourhood of Luxembourg City, suspecting them of drug dealing. During the check, the suspect admitted to having swallowed several pellets of cocaine and heroin.

Following orders from the public prosecutor, the individual was detained and examined with a scanner, revealing 25 foreign objects inside their body. The suspected drug dealer appeared before an examining magistrate on Wednesday morning.
