A lorry accident on the A7 motorway Tuesday afternoon has left two vehicles stranded in the fast lane and forced traffic to be diverted onto the hard shoulder ahead of the evening rush hour.

The crash occurred shortly after 2pm on Tuesday between the Colmar-Berg and Ettelbruck junctions. According to the Motorway Traffic Control and Information (CITA) service, two vehicles were left stranded in the fast lane following the collision.

A photo sent to RTL shows that a lorry collided with the safety barrier adjacent to the fast lane. Recovery vehicles have since arrived at the scene to clear the accident site and remove the damaged vehicles.

As a result of the incident, the left-hand lane remains closed to traffic. Authorities are diverting vehicles onto the hard shoulder, but motorists should prepare for delays over the coming hours as recovery operations continue.
