Several individuals were arrested by police on Friday evening on suspicion of committing a burglary in the eastern part of the country.

The incident occurred in Altrier, where a burglary was reported at a residence. The intruders reportedly entered the house through a terrace door. By the time police arrived at the scene, the burglars had already fled.

A witness then contacted the police after recognising suspicious individuals in a private Facebook post. Police traced the suspects' vehicle and intercepted it in Waldhof. The suspects' descriptions matched those reported, leading to their arrest.

Drink-driving incidents

Late on Friday evening, police received reports of a car travelling "very slowly" and "zigzagging" in Esch-sur-Alzette. The vehicle was located, and the driver was found to be heavily intoxicated. A subsequent blood alcohol test confirmed this, resulting in the revocation of the driver's licence and a temporary driving ban.

Early on Saturday morning, around 2am, police observed a suspicious vehicle in Mersch. The driver had bypassed a roadblock set up for a local demonstration and exhibited "clear signs of being under the influence of alcohol," according to police reports. A test confirmed the driver's intoxication, and their licence was subsequently withdrawn.
