A bus crash involving a lorry on the N15 near Pommerloch on Friday morning resulted in multiple injuries, including two to three severe cases, prompting an emergency response and the deployment of three helicopters by the Luxembourg Air Rescue.

At around 11am on Friday, a bus lost control in a roundabout and crashed into a stationary lorry on the N15 near Pommerloch. According to preliminary reports, two to three people sustained severe injuries in the collision while around 13 people are believed to have minor injuries.

The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) immediately despatched a team to the scene of the crash while the Luxembourg Air Rescue deployed three helicopters in addition to the 60 firefighters and15 vehicles despatched by the CGDIS. An advanced medical post was established to provide urgent care and enable emergency services to prioritise patients for hospital transport. All injured individuals were subsequently transferred to various hospitals for treatment.

According to the latest reports by the CGDIS, 14 people have been injured in the incident, with two individuals in critical condition. Everyone of the bus sustained injuries.

The road in question remains closed for the time being and a forensics team has been sent to the scene of the crash.
