On Monday, the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) responded to a challenging rescue operation in Hoscheid, where a hiker required airlifting after sustaining a leg injury.

According to a Facebook post by the emergency services, the hiker's location was difficult to access by land, prompting the deployment of the Air Rescue helicopter. A specialised team from the Reconnaissance and Intervention Group in Hazardous Environments (GRIMP) was also mobilised.

The injured hiker was airlifted using a winch and subsequently transported to the hospital by ambulance, the emergency services reported.
