Luxembourg’s government has recently presented a proposal to individualise tax classes, which the LSAP parliamentary group hailed as a step in the right direction.

In a statement released on Friday morning, the LSAP parliamentary group welcomed the government’s initiative but called for additional measures, arguing that individualisation alone is not sufficient.

The party is urging that the tax scale be adjusted to make it fairer, with more moderate increases for lower incomes and significantly higher rates for top earners.

The LSAP also proposed that capital taxation be revised and that families receive targeted support through allowances and tax credits.
