It's been a week since the beloved wallaby Sammy escaped from its home, and after repeated sightings by locals in eastern Luxembourg, he has finally been located in the forest near Consdorf where operations are currently underway for his capture.
On Monday afternoon, RTL Today spoke to animal charity Give Us A Voice, where an excited spokesman shared that they were about to capture the anxious 'kangaroo' still roaming around the forests of Consdorf. The man stated that the animal was in perfect health, and that nearby roads and cars present the only real danger to Sammy at this time.
The organisation has nearly managed, twice, to capture the escapee with a net — whilst paying careful attention to not cause it any harm. He continues to be 'safe' in this current location but continues to be difficult to catch, as his would-be rescuers note that Sammy has proven to be "a very smart animal".

And for those of you who may be wondering: Sammy is in fact a wallaby. A kangaroo is almost twice the size, weighs up to 90 kg, and his legs are much longer, made to run faster. A wallaby's legs are compact so the animal is more agile.
We wish Give Us a Voice the best of luck in their rescue and hope drivers near Consdorf drive safely for the sake of Luxembourg's favourite runaway wallaby.
