The new speed camera is situated near where the N8 and N12 intersect and is the result of a request made by Saeul Mayor to former Mobility Minister François Bausch to help improve road safety around the village. Saeul is the smallest municipality in the Grand Duchy, but has an average of three million vehicles passing through each year.
At the start of June, the 35th speed camera in the Grand Duchy was thus installed on the N12 towards Schwebach, on the outskirts of Saeul. It will monitor traffic in both locations and ensure vehicles are sticking to the 50 km/h speed limit in the area.
The installation is currently still undergoing a test phase before its definitive and permanent commissioning. Once active, motorists who surpass the speed limit will be subjected to fines.
