RTL Today - Fatal fire in 2022: Cause of Kayl house fire remains unknown as building is demolished

Almost a year and a half have passed since St Nicholas' Day 2022, when a six-year-old child died in a house fire in Kayl. The building is now being demolished, but the investigations surrounding its causes remain open.

The municipality has issued a permit for this to the owner, Hasmin Huremovic, who has new plans for the property. Although he hopes to build six new flats, the law only allows for three, explained the municipality.

It wasn't long before house number 60 in Kayl was entirely engulfed in flames, leaving six families without a home.

According to court, the causes of the fire are still unknown, experts are still involved and the investigation has not yet been completed.
