The rescue helicopter was deployed on Wednesday evening following a crash between Mondorf-les-Bains and Burmerange which left one person with severe injuries.

A spokesperson for the police confirmed that a motorist had collided with a tree shortly before 9pm and had suffered severe injuries as a result.

The police were accompanied by numerous emergency responders at the scene, along with the air ambulance. The collision led to the closure of the CR152 for several hours.

A forensics team was dispatched to the site of the crash to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the accident.

Earlier on Wednesday, two cars collided on the CR160 between Dudelange and Zoufftgen at around half past five in the afternoon. Fortunately, the crash resulted in material damage only.
