The Bettembourg municipality announced it had found two dozen dead crows in the local castle park, with authorities assuming that the animals were probably poisoned.

In this context, the municipality has issued a series of recommendations. When visiting the castle grounds with children or dogs, people should maintain vigilance and avoid coming into contact with dead animals. Dogs should also be kept on a lead at all times.

People who notice unusual activities should alert the police via the 113 emergency line. The municipality added that it is keen on finding out the cause of the dead crows to make the park safe for visitors again as soon as possible.

Bettembourg Mayor Laurent Zeimet confirmed to RTL that authorities from the Health Ministry, the Agriculture Ministry, and the police have been informed about the incident. Although this is the first time dead crows appear in Bettembourg, similar incidents have been reported in Differdange in the past.

The dead crows are currently in a lab where the cause of death is to be determined. Poisoning is just an assumption at this point, Mayor Zeimet noted.

Warning signs have been posted in the park. People can also find more information from the Ecological Services on 5180802848.
