One of the longstanding traditions observed by many Catholics in the Grand Duchy on Ascension Day is the pilgrimage to Our Lady of Fatima, with thousands once again participating this year.

Each year, thousands of Catholics embark on a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Fatima in Wiltz. The pilgrimage typically sees a significant number of participants walking to the site, with a majority starting their journey between 4am and 7am. Most people come from the Ettelbruck area.

While the pilgrimage serves as a spiritual experience for many, it also offers an opportunity for participants to spend quality time with family and friends. Expressions of gratitude and petitions for divine support are common motivations for pilgrims, who return year after year to pay homage to Our Lady of Fatima in Wiltz.
