Works are currently underway to extend the tram line from Bonnevoie to Cloche d'Or, a new phase in the route that is expected to open in the summer of 2024.

A 73-metre long bridge was installed across the motorway between the industrial zone of Howald with the business district of Cloche d'Or.

The Y-shaped tram bridge will not only carry along tram carriages every 6-8 minutes, but also makes way for pedestrians and cyclists.

The extension is around four kilometres long, and will have five new tram stops. One of these stops remains provisional, as a vital piece of land that was missing up until December hindered construction.

The tracks will have been laid by the end of spring, before testing begins in May and the line becomes operational in June.

The tram line extension to Findel Airport could open as soon as January 2025.
