Police had their hands full on Sunday as four arrests were made in total - including responding to one very strange attack.
The busy day began in Stadtbredimus, where a masked man was reported sneaking around a home and vehicle. A police patrol was able to stop the man outside the home, who seemed to have been in the midst of his burglary tour, as police found several stolen items on his person. The person was arrested that same afternoon.
That afternoon calls were made to police after a person was left seriously injured after being hit with a manhole cover by an unknown person. The events took place on Rue d'Éperney in the Gare district.
The suspect was located thanks to a fast search operation in the vicinity and arrested on the spot. He appeared before the examining magistrate on Monday morning.
In the evening, a patrol on Rue de Strasbourg in the Gare district noticed a van jumping a red light. When police pulled the van over, they discovered it was connected to a burglary a few days earlier in Hesperange. A purse was found in the van, not belonging to any of the three occupants, but they had used it to withdraw money with bank cards. They too were arrested.
Early on Monday morning, police noticed a group of people in the same street. Because there was a suspicion of a drug deal, two people were checked. Two bags of cocaine were seized from one, and a mobile phone and cash were seized from the other, who according to initial investigations is a drug dealer.
The alleged dealer was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor's office and appeared before the investigating judge on Monday.
