Railway services between Esch-sur-Alzette and Differdange were temporarily halted this Monday morning after a person was struck by a train near Belvaux-Soleuvre, prompting an extensive emergency response and the implementation of shuttle bus services for affected passengers.
Railway traffic between Esch-sur-Alzette and Differdange was suspended on Monday morning due to a rescue operation in the Belvaux-Soleuvre area. At around 12.30pm, CFL announced that services would slowly be resuming, but advised passengers to expect delays or cancellations.
According to emergency service reports, a person was struck by a train at 7.45am. Several units were deployed to the scene, including an air ambulance and firefighters from Sanem-Differdange and Esch.
CFL set up shuttle bus services between Esch and Differdange during the suspension. Trains connecting Luxembourg City with Esch and Pétange with Differdange continue operating.
