All in all, there were on average 222 homeless people seeking shelter during the "Wanteraktioun" daily.

With the capital's recent crackdown on homelessness in Luxembourg, the Greens submitted a series of parliamentary questions to Immigration Minister Max Hahn on Monday.

Additionally, the Greens sought a followup on the government's policy on single male asylum seekers. Back in October 2023, former Foreign Affairs Minister Jean Asselborn announced that single male asylum seekers who have already been registered as asylum seekers in another EU member state would not be eligible to apply for asylum in Luxembourg.

In response, Minister Max Hahn stated that 60 single men have applied for asylum in Luxembourg and have been placed on the waiting list. Since October 2023, 280 asylum seeking men in total were placed on the waiting list, with 60 men left at the time of writing, according to the minister.

Additionally, between November 15 and December 31, Hahn states that on average 31 asylum seekers were taken in per day. All in all, there were approximately 222 people without shelter that were aided through the "Wanteraktioun." The "Wanteraktioun" is an initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Family Affairs with the aim of giving homeless people shelter during months of extreme cold.

The night shelter near Findel airport can house around 250 people until the end of the year per night. Recently, the shelter's capacity has been increased to 300 people, with the additional installation of tents.
