Lou Linster has been elected the new President of the Luxembourg Democratic and Liberal Youth (JDL)
During the extraordinary national congress in Walferdange on Saturday evening, Lou Linster was elected with 89 percent of the votes - no opposing candidacy was presented, as announced by the youth party on Sunday morning.
Linster is the mayor of the municipality of Leudelange. Taking over the reins of the JDL, he succeeds Michael Agostini, who held the position of president for five years. During his acceptance speech, the new JDL president advocated for a reform of the State Council, emphasising that bills would be blocked for a long time.
Additionally, former President Agostini does not anticipate any progress, with the CSV in the government, on "important socio-political issues", such as surrogacy, cannabis, and prostitution.
