Police officers in Echternach were joined by customs officers to check traffic for two hours on Wednesday.

Late on Wednesday afternoon, police and customs officers conducted traffic checks on Rue de Wasserbillig in Echternach. 10 motorists were fined €145 and lost two points off their licences for not having the correct technical papers. In eight cases, the vehicle tax had elapsed, resulting in fines worth €74, and in two further cases, the vehicle had not been taxed in over 60 days, which left the individual drivers with €250 fines.

Three drivers were caught with unregistered vehicles and were fined €145 and lost two points off their licences.

Break-ins across Luxembourg 

Police in Strassen received reports of a man attempting to break into a parked car on Route d'Arlon. A police patrol located the man and issued him with a written warning.

On Wednesday evening, burglars targeted a house on Rue de Roodt in Rambrouch, breaking in via a patio door and searching the property.

Later on, another break-in occurred at a house on Rue d'Ospern, Redange-sur-Attert, but the intruder fled when the residents arrived home.
