Poor weather conditions led to delays and flight cancellations at Luxembourg's airport on Thursday.

Flights to and from Luxembourg were subjected to delays and cancellations from midday on Thursday, with no planes departing the runway from 12.40pm, according to the airport's website.

The reason for the disruption was said to be poor visibility as a result of foggy conditions, leading to delays for smaller aircraft throughout the morning. Cargo planes managed to continue operations, said Luxairport.

Air traffic is expected to return to normal once the fog clears.
