As a sign that the weather is getting colder, the first snowfall of the year was reported in the north of the country on Friday evening.
However, by early morning, the snow had already melted away. The snow fell in very small quantities in the north of Luxembourg on Friday evening, where the temperature approached zero degrees. This was the case in Heiderscheid, near Esch-sur-Sûre, where car windshields were covered with a thin white layer.

For this Saturday, Meteolux forecasts additional light snowfall, potentially mixed with rain, in the northern part of the country. Across the rest of the territory, only light rain is expected. Morning temperatures will range between 0 to 3 degrees, while afternoon temperatures will range between 3 and 5 degrees. The night from Saturday to Sunday will remain dry, with only isolated light showers projected for Sunday afternoon.
Expect a drop in temperatures from the beginning of next week: on Monday, temperatures will fall below freezing with an expected -1 degrees during the coldest part of the day and 2 degrees in the afternoon. Moderate snowfalls are projected in the morning, possibly even the afternoon. Starting from the middle of the week, the weather is expected to cool down even further, especially in the mornings. Time to put on your hats and gloves!
