Standing up against gender-based violence, Luxembourg's Women's Council on Tuesday kicked off its annual awareness campaign – the Orange Week – at Mamer Castle.
The National Women's Council (CNFL) on Tuesday officially launched the seventh edition of the 'Orange Week' with an event at Mamer Castle. This year, the annual awareness campaign will run under the theme 'Lët'z say no to violence against women'.
In conversation with RTL, council president Aldina Ganeto explained that worldwide one in three women experience violence over the course of their lives. Danielle Becker-Bauer, who coordinates the Orange Week, stressed that people should not look away when they believe someone has become the victim of violence.
Close to 50 events are planned for the 2023 edition of the awareness campaign, including a solidarity march in Ettelbruck on Saturday.
