The lifeless body of a 29-year-old man was discovered hanging from a traffic sign near the Brussels Ring, prompting a police investigation into the suspicious death.
A 29-year-old man was found dead yesterday, hanging from a traffic sign on a street beneath the Brussels orbital ring road, near the border between Dilbeek in Flemish Brabant and Anderlecht in Brussels. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, which is being treated as suspicious.
According to the Brussels public prosecutor’s office, the body was discovered at Exit 13 along the Brussels Ring, secured to the sign with a cable. Federal judicial police technicians attended the scene, and an autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death.
The prosecutor’s office has not provided details regarding the circumstances surrounding the death. “The investigation into this suspicious death should shed more light on what happened”, an official told Belgium media. Suicide has not been ruled out.
