The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed this information to RTL. The collision occurred shortly before 1am, in the town of Rawai, situated on the southern part of the island of Phuket in Thailand.
The young Luxembourg national was a passenger on a scooter when it was struck by a car. According to Phuket News, the scooter subsequently collided with an electricity pole.
The driver of the scooter, a 21-year-old man from the US, also succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, a 41-year-old woman, was injured and admitted to hospital.
